Jaime Moreno, Bolivia, International, Equalizer

He may not get on the scoresheet, but Jaime Moreno created the goal for Bolivia that tied their match with Venezuela at 1-1. It'll probably go down as an own-goal, but he set it up with some nice moves at the corner of the box. It does the heart good to see that.

However they score that officially, we all know that Jaime *was* aiming to knock that ball off of the defender's foot and into the goal...... ; )

Oh, absolutely. Pay no attention to Arce making that far post run ;)

My Tivo screwed me on that second Bolivian goal. It was Moreno again, wasn't it?

From the Copa America website, "The goals were scored by Giancarlo Maldonado (21) and Ricardo Páez (56) for the Venezuelans, and Jaime Moreno (38) and Juan Carlos Arce (84) for the Bolivians."

ESPNSoccerNet.com says that Moreno scored the goal as well.

Terrific Moment for Jaime. Made even sweeter for him and for us DC fans by all the incessant yapping by the Bolivian media and fans about how he's no good, he's too old, the team is better without him, blah, blah, blah. Bolivian fans need a harsh reality check: they left their best player (since etcheverry) out of the squad for the last 6 years for reasons of pure stupidity and arrogance. If bolivia has any chance of qualification in the upcoming eliminatorias, he will have to be the go-to-guy.
