The Real Reason the Euros are Important

When talking about a keeper in an international tournament allowing a ball to slip thought his hands for a goal, thus eliminating his team, we will now talk about Petr Czech and not Troy Perkins. Which means we can joke about it now.

Who the hell is Troy Perkins?

But one thing we can NOT joke about is getting the the toughest possible draw for the Champions League. Saprissa and probably Cruz Azul. Compare it to the Swiss cheese Houston will face.

And will the Oranje "rest" sufficiently for a comfortable Romania win, thus eliminating Italy and France?

To rest or not to rest, that IS the question!

I dearly hope they lose to Romania (by choice, that is, not by actual merit). France & Italy both do not deserve to be in the next round (in my humble opinion).

By the way is CD Guadalajara any good? I'm going to see them play DCU and I am hoping to see a game where DC has a chance of winning, so...(and ok I wanted to see Jonny Magellon too)

That comeback by Turkey against CZE was FANTASTIC! Andy Gray was correct to challenge anyone to watch the second half of that match and not get excited. Nihat's game winner was the goal of the tournament so far.

I would love to see Oranje play the U15 boys team today, because seeing France and Italy (oh yes, definitely Italy) eliminated would do my heart a world of good.

Guadalajara is a good team, as we have become very familiar with them (CONCACAF Champions Cup and Copa Sudamericana last year) United has a shot, but even if they are not as good as they've been historically, they're still a damn good team. And even this year they recently won their Clasura group ahead of Cruz Azul.

I was only following the matchcast and I got excited!

However, I'd say Sneijder v Italy was a better goal...

Oh and thanks D, I'd love to see United win vs them of course but I figure if they lose, at least it's to someone I respect rather than someone like, oh, I don't know, the Gals for example...

If Petr Cech needs a hole to hide away, he is welcome to DCU anytime!

BTW, another GK blunder that cost them a game - Greek losing to Russians on asinine actions of their goalie Nikopolidis.

And another blunder: ejection of Turk's GK (Volkan) for stupid push of Koller at the end of the game. At least his replacement is Rustu (don't know his form now, but he used to be great).
